Medtronic/CoreValve TAVI

Since 2009, GCI Health has led Medtronic’s efforts to build global support for its CoreValve transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) system in preparation for anticipated FDA approval in 2014; our core strategy has been to promote clinical data at ACC, EuroPCR, ESC, TCT, EACTS, AHA and STS, as well as to insert Medtronic into competitor news. For each meeting we work with conference organizers, media relations staff and target reporters to assess press attendance plans and seek unique opportunities for interactions between investigators and onsite/remote trade and business reporters. In 2012, between EuroPCR, ESC, EuroPCR London Valves, TCT and EACTS, we generated 60 original articles about CoreValve, including 17 original articles at TCT about European data only in a poster; we also successfully incorporated the therapy into 73% of all original coverage of TAVI systems at these meetings.
