Roadmap to Becoming a Best Place to Work

For a truly great leader, there is no better testament than to have his or her staff recognize theirs as the optimal place to work. And while that has always been true, 2020 takes the achievement to another level given the incredible professional and personal challenges we all still face.

The competition to be named among PRWeek’s Best Places to Work 2020 was intense. GCI Health was among 23 organizations to be honored this year. And the stewardship of Kristin Cahill, the agency’s current North America president who will assume the global CEO role on January 1, was a key reason.

In this exclusive interview with PRWeek, Cahill shared a foundational tenet that shapes her leadership philosophy. “I consider it a moral obligation to give our people opportunities,” she explained. That resonates even more as it comes from someone who has been at the same agency for 18 years, steadily climbing the ladder.

As the conversation ensued, topics of focus included long-term lessons learned from COVID-19 workplace adjustments, how to holistically take care of working parents and steps to ensure progress is made on diversity and inclusion.
