New Health Matters Initiative Delivers Expert Insights on Critical Health Policy Challenges

Navigating the relentless pace of change in healthcare—from scientific breakthroughs to geopolitical shifts and pervasive misinformation—demands a new level of insight and agility. In this complex environment, expert insights and strategic guidance are critical for healthcare companies to thrive and maintain public trust.

GCI Health, Burson and Health@WPP have joined together to launch Health Matters, an initiative that dives deep into the big issues and breaking news shaping healthcare. The initiative is anchored by a new monthly podcast series in partnership with Fierce Pharma, as well as invitation-only events and Health Matters bulletins. Each Health Matters podcast episode features in-depth discussions with top industry leaders and policy experts, covering areas that include vaccine confidence, DTC advertising, tariffs and more.

“We’re here to partner with healthcare clients by offering strategic guidance and the insights they need to manage and pivot in a rapidly evolving landscape,” shares Wendy Lund, Chief Client Officer, Health@WPP.

Available now, the first episode of the podcast series, “Marketing in the Grey Zone: Navigating FDA Uncertainty,” explores how recent changes and proposed reforms at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are reshaping the pharmaceutical and life sciences communications landscape, creating both challenges and opportunities for engagement. In this episode, Peter Pitts, Former FDA Associate Commissioner and President of the Center for Medicine in the Public Interest (CMPI), shares how companies can lead with integrity and impact amid regulatory uncertainty.

“As guardians of public health, we need to meet people where they are—with empathy, creativity and urgency—to ensure our strategies and messages resonate and inspire action,” says Ryan Kuresman, Managing Director, Global Lead, Public Affairs and Health Policy Lead, GCI Health. “We’re eager to combine the power of GCI Health, Burson and Health@WPP’s thought leadership to offer this crucial resource at a pivotal moment for the healthcare industry.”
